I'm just stating that, while it IS a misconception that Construct isn't that powerful, it's not a misconception that Construct is inneficient compared to the tools of a professional game-developer and what I'm attempting to put forward is by comparing it to things like Javascript on your website you're overstating things slightly and making yourself less appealing to the professional game-dev. I do agree with you that it's a misconception that there's nothing to gain over using construct, but it's, surprisingly enough, much more efficient to use GM when you're a game-dev. I can create a pathfinding engine within anywhere between about five and ten lines of code.

Sometimes, having to type out complex calculations is a good thing as it allows for the full freedom needed by a professional game-dev.Īlso, it's worth adding that in Game-Maker, there are quite a few things handled by the system, including collisions and a vast amount of pathfinding. So in GM, the level-design-times aren't really a problem. GM has a room-editor allowing for easy placement and arrangement of objects, and also allows for reasonably simple level design. One of the many outstanding aspects of the Scirra community is that the devs are always responsive and helpful, constantly seeking to enhance user do make some entirely valid and credible points there. The future continues to look brighter and brighter, while the devs are making outstanding strides each week, impressing even the most experienced programmers in the community.Īnd the devs will most certainly read all of this.

Not to mention the recent enhancements to the Windows 8 app exporter, which has been constantly improving and now includes essentially all features. iOS performance received outstanding improvements in both performance and audio (web audio API integration in iOS6) recently as well. I hope the devs read this and make Construct 2 deploy easily to native executables, like C1 already does.Ĭonstruct 2 IS easy to deploy to native executables, and is getting outstanding performance (60fps since the newest beta release (r107). It seems to have very slow development in that field. I've been wondering when there would be a better variety of export options for a while now. It's primarily for HTML5 deployment right now.
